Snake Cave

Snake Cave (Kacna jama) – 2009

International expedition “Snake Cave – River exploration” was organized by Planivy speleo group Czech republic in collaboration with local Slovenian group – Jamarsko team Gregor Ziberna Divaca. The expedition team consisted of 31 Czech and 9 Hungarian cavers from Budapest.

5 km distant final siphon can be explored only by really large team of cavers, which would transport huge quantities of material comprising at least four boats, equipment for 2 underground bivouac, a few hundred meters of ropes and mainly phone that is used for awareness about the local weather.Overall were delivered to this distance 14 heavy transport bags with complete equipment for two divers. After dive through the final siphon another, new part of the cave was discovered, called “Corridor behind the mirror”.
